Dear Parents, Staff Members, and Students:
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year. The teachers, supporting staff, and I are very excited in having your child at Oxnard Street Elementary. We want to start off the year by reminding all students about our school expectations. They are, “Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible.” In the school and at the perimeter of our school, we also have our Guiding Principles for the School Community. They are “Respect, Responsibility, Appreciation of Differences, Honesty, Safety, and Life-Long Learning.” Throughout the school year, we will have monthly focus for each of those expectations emphasized.
We also want to encourage parents to be involved. If you would like to assist with our morning valet system or be part of our school councils, please come in and see our Parent & Family Center representative Katherine Rodriguez.
Lastly, please remember to have your child get a good night sleep so that they can come to school on time and be ready to learn. Designate an area in your house where your child can complete their homework. The staff members at Oxnard Elementary are here to serve you and your child.
We are also pleased to share the attached school calendar for important dates and events with you. Please note that the events are tentative and may be rescheduled.

Estimados padres, personal y estudiantes:
Bienvenidos al año escolar 2025-2026. Los maestros, el personal de apoyo y yo estamos muy emocionados de tener a su hijo/a en la Escuela Primaria Oxnard Street. Queremos comenzar el año recordando a todos los estudiantes nuestras expectativas escolares: “Sean seguros, respetuosos y responsables”. En la escuela y en el perímetro, también tenemos nuestros Principios Rectores para la Comunidad Escolar: “Respeto, Responsabilidad, Apreciación de las Diferencias, Honestidad, Seguridad y Aprendizaje Permanente”. A lo largo del año escolar, nos centraremos mensualmente en cada una de estas expectativas.
También queremos animar a los padres a participar. Si desean colaborar con nuestro sistema de valet parking matutino o formar parte de nuestros consejos escolares, por favor, visiten a nuestra representante del Centro de Padres y Familias, Katherine Rodríguez. Por último, recuerden que su hijo/a debe dormir bien para que pueda llegar a la escuela a tiempo y estar listo/a para aprender. Designen un área en su casa donde su hijo/a pueda hacer sus tareas. El personal de la Escuela Primaria Oxnard está aquí para servirles a ustedes y a su hijo/a.
También nos complace compartir con ustedes el calendario escolar adjunto con fechas y eventos importantes. Tengan en cuenta que los eventos son provisionales y podrían reprogramarse.
